Looking for student housing in Villeneuve-d’Ascq, close to the University of Lille, the Pont-de-Bois campus, Cité Scientifique or the Pierre-Mauroy Stadium? Twenty Campus offers three residences with furnished student apartments, services included, and a fully online booking process.
Villeneuve-d’Ascq is one of the major university hubs of Hauts-de-France. The town is home to two major campuses of the University of Lille, several prestigious schools, and an unusual natural environment for a town of its size. The 110 hectares of Parc du Héron make it the green lung of the Lille metropolitan area. On top of this, a dense transport network puts central Lille less than 20 minutes away by metro.
Thousands of students move here every year for university studies, engineering school, or business school. Since summer 2024, the town has also taken on another identity: that of an Olympic host city.
Villeneuve-d’Ascq, a town marked by the 2024 Olympic Games
For sixteen days, Villeneuve-d’Ascq hosted the only Olympic venue in Hauts-de-France. The Pierre-Mauroy Stadium hosted 52 matches in total, from July 27 to August 11, 2024: first the basketball rounds, then the handball finals. The venue saw very high attendance: these competitions drew more than one million spectators in total between Villeneuve-d’Ascq and Paris, with close to 877,000 people for the first week of basketball alone within the metropolitan area.
Next to the Stadium, a brand-new residential complex was built for the sports delegations: the Olympium residence. Converted into student housing right after the Games, it welcomed its first tenants in September 2024.
Olympium has 495 housing units in total, including around 380 student apartments and 115 co-living units. The co-living section is now home to high-level athletes and young professionals, in particular from clubs in the Lille metropolitan area. Some fittings and decorative elements from the Olympic period have also been kept and remain visible in the residence’s common areas.
